Macquarie University’s Art Faculty required an interlinked group of 8 classrooms, a building to house its Australian History Museum display and toilets. The buildings were designed to provide overall floor space of 835m2.

The buildings were laid out to fit neatly within an existing carpark area and followed the natural contours of the site while preserving the site’s mature trees. The buildings are linked by level, covered walkways with full disabled access.

The Museum stores and displays many valuable items requiring a temperature and humidity controlled environment. A sophisticated climate control system was installed to continuously maintain the required indoor environment conditions.

The project was completed within 15 weeks of order to meet the University’s teaching schedule.
